Don't the Ecclesbourne Valley do announcements at Wirksworth like 'Change at Duffield for services to Derby, Leicster and London St Pancras, for the continent' wonder if anyone's done it?

At Devils Bridge, there is a British Railway's poster which states " Why not travel by train direct* from Devil's Bridge to Istanbul",and at the bottom in small letters states "* changing at Aberystwyth, Birmingham, Euston, Paris, Stuttgart, Munich, Budapest Bucharest."

I have done my home to London, London to Paris, Paris to Vienna, Vienna to Bucharest, Bucharest to Cluj. On scheduled services.

Did break the journey in Vienna and Bucharest. Took I think about 2 and a bit days.

More recently did: my home (then in Bavaria) to Munich - Munich -Graz - Graz - Ljubljana, Ljubljana - Rejka and I also did Vienna to Leuven (changing in Frankfurt and Brussels).

My own one way journey was York, London KC, tube, Charing Cross, Dover, Zeebrugge, Brussels, Maastricht and Roermond.
Changing at each place, seem to recall another change between Zeebrugge and Brussels from a small unit.

Little bit surprised there’s not been any official announcements about the ‘That’s Yer Lot Gala’ beyond the planned visit of 43106.

Caledonian 419 now confirmed as a planned visitor. I'm normally more diesel orientated but this one has certainly spiked my interest - it's very different from a large BR black visitor that's for sure!

It's not historically accurate in any way but from a cosmetic point of view I'm looking forward to a photo opportunity with 419 and the Quad Arts and also alongside the Y14 to compare the blue colours, fingers crossed in sunshine!

Is 419 the first 0-4-4 to visit the NNR?

I should have asked if 419 is the first complete 0-4-4 to visit the NNR. Didn't the boiler of an M7 pass through the boiler works recently?

Delighted to see that. Excellent as always. As someone who sometimes writes a blog for my business I really appreciate the effort that goes into yours. I am waiting with baited breath to see GER 853 glazed and in GER crimson
