According to the RTC website this is going clockwise ie via Sapperton out and Honeybourne back. Is this likely?

If the RTC website says the tour is schedueled to go out & return clockwise, then I'd say there is little doubt that is what will happen.

You mean you believe everything on the RTC website? It’s possibly correct but we will see. I might book anyway

I wouldn't go that far, all I'm saying is that RTC tours usually tend to go by the route that is advertised on their website. Anyways, the tour returning via Honeybourne bank gives me an excuse to try out the Campden Tunnel shot.

Hope not. Booked it for a final run over Sapperton the steep way with No. 9. The 'other way around' is hardly worth getting up in the morning for.

It seems more likely doesn’t it? Hopefully it will be DL free

RTC have confirmed that the route shown on their website is the planned one and that they do not expect a DL to be involved.

Oh well as we've booked it we'll go. Lazy reading on my part if it always said it was a clockwise run. Liked the later 0805 start off PAD as it meant we could get there rather than pick it up at Slough or Reading which we have to do with the usual 0705 departure. It's the only clockwise Venturer. Both the expensive 60103 15th June and normal priced 24th August runs are the 'proper way around' with an eastbound assault on Sapperton.

Five hours in Worcester in the winter might drag a bit but a good steamy day none the less.

Quick dash to Foregate St, then a very dodgy 3 minute connection at Kidderminster on to the 12.40 worked by 75069!

The Commandery museum have a big historical re-enactment event going on that day, about 150 re-enactors along with some military displays and vintage vehicles. Don't know whether that might be anyone's cup of tea or not!

After the week I’ve had; any news if Number 9 has passed her FTR?

No specific mention of the FTR but pictures appeared on the 60009 Facebook page at about 17:30 today showing them prepping her for tomorrows trip - no mention of any issues

........A comment on FB regarding the above photo:):

Is the guy under the "bonnet" shouting to the driver... "Try it now"?

Bang on time through Steventon - in fact I only arrived 2 mins ahead (having been stuck at one of the crossings) so a bit of a grab!
