A shot of 45212 heading for Keighley and the KWVR at dusk yesterday, passing Hirst Wood cutting between Saltaire and Bingley. As the loco is facing north, it is likely to be facing downhill at the KWVR and therefore facing the right way to head for Carlisle if necessary. IMG_0539A.jpg

So is 45596 fit and ready 4 thursday on its loaded test run to lecester so it departs tyseley at 15:22 via water orton gets to humberstone rd 1652 dep humberstone rd 17:54 up via castle donnington and burton hopefully tomorrow so would it also be pulling a rake of 10 coaches including support coach? So did 45596 run a hot box when it got back to tyseley was this prob confirmed or was it just a rumour have the engineers checked it at tyseley 4 a hot box has this also been confirmed. Well aft all she is turning her wheels in anger on new axle boxes lets hope the bearings made on good bronze. The rumour comes from some1 on nat pres called landshrew who believed bahamas run a hot box and was meant to do 6x runs up down to stratford on avon i only thought it was to 1 down 1 up to stratford ive not seen owt about her doin 6 runs on realtrain times.

Is the riveria stock dual braked? Assumed it was converted to air brake only?

Don't know. The stock for the Polar Express has gone back, and doubtful they'll use VT stock.

Assuming WCR still have the paperwork to operate it, it would make logistical and financial sense to use the VT stock?

we'll find out the answers to all these questions and more tomorrow at 15:22 or so . Any pronouncements will come from the BLS , anything else is largely unhelpful speculation . The cancellation of the original path for 60163 sparked a load last night , yet the test run all happened

why not , it was used on the 4965 test run . My understanding is that it likely to be VT stock

I assumed there was an issue with mainline certification of their stock, hence the need for other set of coaches for the Polar Express. Unless the certification that is needed is for the right to carry passengers and not empty stock.

Sure its been confirmed elsewhere that the issue is with certs to carry passengers only, and that may only apply to VT's own licence to operate, the BLS test runs gig is a WCR show anyway?
