One from yesterday when the promised sunny periods around Cheshire never seemed to be in the right place (that's life).

Heard the 'knock' on the second return trip which seemed to start when the regulator was closed approaching Hargrave only minutes after the RHTT passed, but RTT doesn't suggest any problem as 70000 reached Crewe 10 minutes after the RHTT .

Good stuff Mayflower is moving again.

I wonder why they went to Barrow rather than 5M50 to Hellifield, which is a much quieter line for traffic, meaning less fines and easier recovery if the s*** hits the fan (as it did with 35018 on tests).

Was reported in the 'Mayflower' thread that she's not gauged for the Hellifield line.

Must be a reasonably recent thing as she did a test round the loop in 2013?

NWR gauging certificates are valid for up to 12 months, then need to be reviewed for infrastructure and locomotive changes.

    Cheers, Neil

Just passed this in the sidings at Ely with 60009 leading; however it looked as if the 47 had been on the front but was in the process of running round.
I'm wondering if 60009 will lead to Norwich via the Wensum curve with the 47 dragging the train back towards the station?

I believe 60009 will lead to Norwich, when the cheshireman tour ran in September, the ecs was lead by the diesel to Ely with the steam engine inaidi, then the steamer lead to Norwich.

Loco and stock now at Norwich in the sidings between the station and football ground; the whole train has been turned.

Regular users of RTT will be aware that anything activated exactly 2 hours before booked departure usually doesn't run.Not saying this is the case today, just warning anyone planning on turning out in the dreadful weather that there is a possibility the test may not happen.Keep an eye on RTT for movements off Steamtown
