East Lancs Railway's Autumn Steam Gala - 19th to 21st October 2018

East Lancs Railway website has confirmed the visiting and home fleet locomotives that will be attending the Autumn Steam Gala from 19th to 21st October 2018.

Visiting:

• GWR 4270 - appearing courtesy of the GWSR and Icons of Steam
• GWR 2857 - appearing courtesy of the SVR and the 2857 Owning Group
• LMS 6233 "Duchess of Sutherland" - appearing courtesy of the Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust

Home Fleet:

• L & YA Class 52322
• BR Standard 4 Tank 80080
• BR Southern Region West Country Pacific 34092
• Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0 Tank "Gothenburg" 32

 

4270 has arrived and entered public service today

No 80080 so I guess it's not ready, await the arrival of 2857 and 6233 to see which way they will face. MSC32 manages a round trip to Rammy on Saturday and Sunday, not my cup of tea on a weekend like this, but will appeal to some. Make homage to the sun gods for weekend!

 

6233 arrived tonight, see my photo in the LE thread. She will face south out of Rawtenstall.

Most visitors by rail appear this way, different photo opportunities, thanks for heads up.

 

They usually leave Bury at 12.30, this departure is 6233 according to the timetable, good choice if you're on it!

City of Wells, and you're to Heywood first by the looks of it

 

Can someone please confirm some of the loco directions please for this East Lancs rookie? As I understand it, only 6233 faces Heywood with the rest of the engines facing Rawtenstall? Thanks in advance.

As you can see above 4270 faces Rawtenstall, as should 52322 and 34092 (did face Heywood for a while, but should have returned from the GCR facing Rawtenstall). 6233 faces Heywood. 2857 I don't know as yet, if someone else can help, most visitors arriving by road face Rawtenstall. 80080 is not listed so presume it didn't make it, MSC 32 faces Rawtenstall (did last time I saw it).
