Cheeky... :D Mind you, if I (a) wasn't driving home and (b) the on-train beer was that I partook of in Chester it may have been a different story...!

Through Stamford 2100, including a long whistle upon entry under the station floodlights, much to the delight of the crowd of drunks having swarmed in minutes earlier from the town, awaiting the Birmingham train directly after the A4. A great chase had, with 7 locations in the bag.

47 580 took the train on to Norwich.

Well.... what a splendid day out; more than made up for the disappointments earlier in the year with the North Briton and Ebor Flyer. :)

Well done the Railway Touring Company, West Coast Railways, Gravy Train... but most of all, thank you Mr. Cameron.

A video of 60019 passing Stafford on the return leg, much to the joy of some excited children...

Also featuring 46100 which was returning from Stratford on Avon an hour or so later.

what a shame, nik someone elses sound...actually, it looks like if it had still been in view less than a minute after the end of the video, the sound would be blowing towards you, shame that.

I kicked the tripod leg on the limited space on the steps of the bridge as it went past me and the next view was of the sky !!

Looking at how 60009 performed on Saturday for 2018 this was one of those tours not to be missed. Anyone agree even though there is more ahead.

Agreed - it really was a splendid performance all day, eleven on and no diesel dead weight either with a chance at Crewe to wander about as well. I'm looking forward to this Saturday's East Coast run, which I hope will equal this.
