Some photos from out trip earlier this week.
Look at the superb quality of restoration work.
    And magnificent liveries.

What a beautifully proportioned loco there was hiding for decades under all that LNE & BR paint! Who needs to ogle mighty express locos when there's something that lovely to gaze upon? :)

Even in a train of such wonderfully restored stock, that little W&U balcony carriage is a downright stunner too.

I’ve always found the mixed traffic types that formed the backbone of Britain's railways more interesting than the large glamorous express types. The B12 and Y14 are East Anglian gems.

Would love to see a B1 based on the NNR permanently but that is pure WIBN...

What the NNR really needs is a nice little M&GN tank loco. Anyone got some spare millions?

Pannier tank, J72, Jinty or going bigger with loco's like 3205, 828 or the Y14, I've had so much more fun behind the humble 0-6-0 than certain 4-6-2's!

Not even stretching to 3 axles ...I'd happily settle for a GER C53.:)

Or even a GER G15 - all two axles of it! :)

What would be nice would be the acquisition of the 04 (?) that replaced the steam trams, as I believe it to still be in existence.

A right handy little loco. Endless fun convincing punters that a brake van's escaped! :)

If memory serves, either a C53 or G15 took part in the railway centenary celebrations - apparently, to howls of derisive laughter (Bruce).

The M&GN Joint Railway Society now own class 08 D3935 recently overhauled and they brought Thompson BTOK Third E1866E. Which is currently at Llangollen Railway and is in operating condition. So the NNR now has 6 Teaks and I wonder what plans for it are.
