There are only 6 TBEs in their 2018 program. One of the provisional dates, June 17th doesn't appear.

    There are 4 via Westbury:
    3rd June
    15th July
    19th Aug
    16th Sept;
and so only 2 via Weston-super-Mare:
    29th July &
    2nd Sept.

Standard Class has gone up from £105 to £112.

There are no early booking discounts this year.

Pity that the 17th June date ((via Weston-super-Mare) was one that had been provisionally earmarked for Merchant 28, according to the MNLPS website today. Still leaves Clan Line with the first-of-the-season outing via Westbury, though

Just worth noting that the initial six-week gap after the first outing is now being filled by a couple of Saphos trips on Sundays 24th June (via Westbury) and 1st July (via Weston-super-Mare). But note Steam from Taunton only, so not strictly comparable.

For the Saphos trips, Standard Class is already shown as being fully booked - hardly surprising at the introductory price of £45, although First Class at the introductory price of £70 looks reasonable as well. Still not quite clear whether these are box-on-the-back trips for the steam leg, but if this isn't an important consideration anyway, and the Mid-West of England is your thing, then this really does look like a bargain day out.

Wonder how many Standard Class coaches will be on their trains? Surprising they've filled both so early but as you say, at that price...

I think box-on-back is a a given on these Saphos trips. Not only have they already said that will be the case, but the air-con Mk 2d/e coaches which make up most of the standard class will require an ETH supply.

They are, but I'm not sure what relevance that has seeing as the poster was talking about LSL's operations.

Tickets arrived. 9 passenger carrying coaches + Kitchen Car. Load will be probably be 12 including POB as the brake is normally an additional non-passenger carrying coach. Would be good if it was the set on the Intruder. Be good to see a complete Chocolate and Cream Rake on the Torbays, even if we ain't got a Great Western engine on the front (yet again).

Can't wait to see 6024 back on the main line and hauling the Torbay Express to South Devon.
It's been over six years since the old girl hauled it's last train. <BJ>

Off-topic I know - and at the risk of making a fool of myself - but what does <BJ> mean? You seem to put it at the end of every post.

Thank you IamDaniel. There is a 12 minute stop scheduled at Frome on the way back. Is that for water too?
