If you are going to build Edwardian locos but there is very little suitable coaching stock to run with them.

 

What about a Sturrock Steam Tender 0-6-0??

That's expensive. There must be plenty of rotting planked wagons around that could be converted into open thirds

I was in a pub today that was advertising a gig tonight by Edison Lighthouse. They must have known Sturrock.

HMHB aside, I have a "reading copy" of British Atlantic Locomotives by C. J. Allen at my bedside. There are some fascinating WIBNI locomotives in there - such as the Gresley-modified Raven "Z" with an articulated booster bogie...

 

Oh I don't know, after all most Edwardian locomotives were in service until the 50s... and both the preservation sites I regularly visit have nice rakes of turn of the century coaches. But yes, if you want those ornate pre grouping liveries then mk1s are a bit anachronistic.

 

Keep Mrs Honeyman right out of sight ...

Late in their service lives they probably occasionally worked with mark 1s. I have seen a photo of Beachy Head with some, and one of the LNWR Ramsbottom 0-6-0STs which ended up as works shunters at Wolverton shunting some

 

Given her capacity for gossip, rumour and scandal, I reckon she'd be properly at home on here...
