If you think Doncaster is bad, try Sheffield. A place that could be vastly improved by several of Academician Kurchatov's big fireworks.

The best thing about Sheffield is the roads out of it...

Except for Weston Park NHS Cancer Hospital. They were absolutely amazing with my late wife's treatment. However, even they couldn't stop the secondary.

Firstly, my sympathies to you. The hospital sounds like a very lonely pearl amongst swine. I'm due to collect something from an area called Attercliffe on Friday: described by a mate who did his degree at Sheffield as 'the part of Sheffield that would have the piles, were it capable' and upon my comment of saying that it looks rough, he said 'you should have seen it forty years ago - to call it dog-rough would be a serious insult to the dog.'

Same as all the West Riding towns and cities nowadays unfortunately... 90% of them are fleapits. I am nowadays ashamed to say I'm from Halifax - It's like a Jeremy Kyle Show holding-camp.

Clearly never visited Sheffield properly then. Yes Attercliffe and the east end aren't the most salubrious of areas, but what industrial city doesn't have similar? Conversely the north, south and west suburbs all border onto the the Peak District, which along with the numerous parks, makes it one of the greenest cities in Europe. Add in the friendly folk, priceless humour and vast choice of ales and I'd go back in a trice given the opportunity.

The tragedy is they could all be so lovely. They've lost the industries that were their reason to exist, and out-of-town shopping centres and retail parks are sucking the life out of the town centres. Now all you have are glorious buildings from a prosperous era, going to rack and ruin occupied by betting and charity shops, if they're occupied at all.

    That said, I like Sheffield.

Sadly, my experience has been that "friendly folk" and "South Yorkshire" have been two circles of a Venn diagram with no intersection. And I say that as someone who spent much of his working life in that most hostile of cities - London. But however, this has stuff-all to do with the P2 of either flavour, does it?

Steam or diesel 47143? That's why I wish that people would remember the space on diesel numbers if that's what they mean ;)

Thing is... why can't it be called Duke of Rothesay and be done with it? It's still a title bestowed upon the heir to the throne and it has a proper Scottish connection.

Bit of Royal butt kissing helps smooth the way for Naming Ceremonies, High profile Royal train gigs Etc. The V4 will probably end up as 'Bantam Meg. ' or Louis Mountbantam'

Had to double read that and my beverage nearly ended up screenside! Louis Mountbantam...hahaha...you've redeemed yersel!

All I want to see is 'Wolf Of Badenoch' in wartime black, with polished gear and wheel tyre edges.

If she does make a trip up to Aberdream, as 'Duke of Rothesay' it would be great to see if you can get the man himself to welcome her. Throw in a day trip out to Balmoral and I'm sure you'd fill 12 coaches easy.

Also, Sheffield is alright. Better than Derby anyway...And Reading for that matter. Yorkshire folk seem friendly enough, they seem to treat you as you treat them. Much like my own race actually... and London...Never again.

I am not so keen on the name Prince of Wales to be honest. Would have been better if they had stayed on the Scottish theme as per the originals, however, one of the reasons given for choosing this was that being linked to Prince Charles would open doors for the project in terms of donations, help etc.

Has there been any actual benefit, money etc for the P2 project so far from this association ? If there has then it is worth it.
