That sums up the situation very well.
Please come and visit our sales stand which will be a the next MHR Gala on 1, 2 & 3 June as every pound helps fundraising for the boiler. ( For those of a delicate disposition, I seem to remember it is a diesel gala.)

    Thanks, Neil

Could this piece of unwelcome (but neccessary, more's the pity) news be shifted to the 'Thefts" thread?

Unlikely. They would first need to take interest in burglaries.

On a happier note I hear that the Urie Loco Blog will be back in a week or two. Lots has been happening, so much so the scribe hasn't had time to engrave the tablets for uploading.

Silly me, I'd forgotten that they're more interested in doing the occupants of motorised vehicles for not wearing seat belts from the comfort of a van!

Thanks from ERPS for all the messages of support and encouragement as well as donations via facebook.
It's early days in the recovery from the theft, but we hope to get 828 back in traffic as soon as we can.

    Cheers, Neil

Not everybody uses face ache - so I'm surprised you didn't post this link to help with replacing the nicked parts!

Just to reassure our reader (and Mrs Trellis) that the Ropley Loco Weds Gang Blogs will continue to appear - on a bit less frequent basis then when Dave-the-Scribe and I were the co-writers. Dave-the-Scribe has stepped back from blog writing - partly because he now has a fleet of ancient cars to support -including 2 Jags. On the other hand, Dave-2Jags is helping out with an occasional blog. As an aside, I have to wonder what it is about old cars - I spent many years at Vauxhall and Les spent many years at Ford - we're the only Weds Gang members who aren't the least bit interested.

Just to explain the difficulty of blog writing a bit. I seem to have unwittingly been promoted to unofficial charge-hand and have spent the last year or so organising a small gang to complete most of the 800ft or so of lubrication pipe-work on Swanage - this despite our complete lack of engineering skills. We've now moved on to bushes and pins in the brake linkages of Swanage's and Canpac's tenders (both of which are MN tenders). Keeping us all on the straight and narrow and endless research of drawings just takes a lot of time and its hard to remember to walk around taking pictures when you're having fun! I'm also aware that endless pictures of pipes (now bushes) don't make for rivetting reading. With my TTI duties and keeping the Ropley PC network going, I'm kept pretty busy.

On the subject of PCs - anyone got a reasonably capable PC they can donate to the railway? Needs to be capable of running Win7/10 with 4Gb, SATA drive and a decent processor? The one in the carriage shop needs replacing.

Now I'm back from Africa we'll try to do better with the blogs

ps I had my first TTI turn for about 6 weeks yesterday - my main contribution was to free the 9Fs crew from imprisonment - somehow the cab door latch had got bent and they couldn't get out.

Nice piece on the Mid Hants YouTube page on the project to restore 80150 to working order.

Thank you for drawing our attention to this. It's a shame about the background "music", but I love the enthusiasm which comes across., yet at the same time, there's a sensible realism. 80150 isn't going to steam any time soon, but all the members of the team are very determined to ensure that in due course this engine will be a runner once more and on the strength of this video, there's every good reason to believe they will be successful in their objective.

Given that 80150, will have some parts, such as motion etc in common with the std 4 , 4-6-0 when orders are placed for forgings etc, is there a plan to raise funds to enable additional sets of motion to be purchased off the same order, as I would imagine savings would be made if both engines parts were ordered at the same time
