How long will it be before someone uploads a clip of a Northbound departure from Levisham with the camera located near the footpath crossing around the 13mp?

Its a view not been seen for 30 years.

Even better if a loco was facing North as well.

Having just viewed the new Goathland webcam. Unfortunately it has been knocked or kicked. With the result it points more upwards toward the footbridge than straight along the line between the platforms, the result being you miss out on seeing the train arrive from Grosmont until the last moment.....:(.

So, I'm a bit curious, but how does the deal from Grosmont to Whitby work? Do the locomotives have to be mainline certified and fitted with all the gubbins like Tornado etc does, or is there a special dispensation after a Network Rail inspection?

All steam locos operating on Network Rail require derogation from various regulations. The only extra derogation given to NYMR locos it one not requiring the fitting of OTMR. All the other 'gubbins' is fitted.
Steam locos have a daily FTR carried out by NYMR staff.

How bad is the Darnholme landslip that is referred to on the NYMR website today? Trains seem to have been all over the place the last couple of days looking at the webcams.
ps how long before someone empties a toilet onto the new Goathland webcam?

    Service Updates
Update 14.24 04/04/18: Please be aware that services have fallen behind due to running at caution past the land slip at Darnholme. We hope to catch up a small amount, please arrive at stations for your booked departure time. Once again we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

    Update 11.49 04/04/18:
We regret that the 1230 Grosmont to Pickering Departure and the 1400 Pickering to Grosmont Departure have been cancelled today. This is because of ongoing work at Darnholme, due to a land slip yesterday. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Yes I had seen that on the website but gives no idea of size or if it is felt more may move that could potentially block the line and trap locos (especially the B1 as it is on a mainline trip the next two weekends) behind it.

Nothing since yesterdays announcement so far today. That might be due to them not having an early start in the office, or the slip was a minor affair and only affected some of yesterdays train times.

LATEST: All trains anticipated running to schedule. Locos: 926. 80136 and 1264 quoted as running.
That slip was soon dealt with it seems. :)

Apologies, it was written in haste on the train into work. Now corrected.

The link to this seems to have disappeared off the Goathland Station page on the NYMR website. Anyone know if there is a new link or was the webcam not viewed as successful in that location?
