I'm not sure I would risk that myself, given the stiffness of the incline up from the river to the station! Having said that this gala timetable does seem to have quite relaxed crossing margins.

Indeed, I had almost 10 minutes to do it, wouldn't want much less than that!

Rather enjoyed yesterday, to have the B12 up the bank out of Highley and to wait for 53808 to cross it at Hampton Loade yesterday evening was pretty special, as I write this the snow is starting to fall on Bewdley dosn't seem to be sticking though.

All the forecasts at the moment seem to show a little snow this morning, a sunny day, and then a bit more snow from 5pm onwards becoming heavier overnight.

Hopefully this means today won't be affected (including my journey to and from the railway!) - I would be more concerned about tomorrow.

Great gala day yesterday, up there with some of the best in my opinion. B12 looked superb on the teaks and 6023 is simply a beast - real shame she will not be on the mainline anytime soon - in about 4 chuffs she is up to linespeed and having to be held back!
Top performance for me was 80072's spirited climb of Eardington in the evening, sounded superb. 53808 was also very noisy with 7 carriages and a dead Flying Pig on the back!
All trains very full, 6023's verging on sardine can first thing. But time keeping was spot on, helped with some significant lull times at stations to cope with the crowds .
Great gala, thanks all for pulling out the stops, especially with the last minute loco challenges!

Great to see the 7F yesterday, well done to all involved for getting her there at such short notice. Seen here approaching Little Rock with the 11.00 ex-Bridgnorth on Fri morning....................

Several very busy departures from Kidderminster this morning. The snow and wind don't seem to have put many off.

I have to agree with the posters above that yesterday was superb.

We started at Bridgnorth, on the 1005 hauled by 80072 and it was packed to the rafters. At least it emptied a little at Hampton Loade.

Highlights for me have to be the B12, Bellerophon and 6023 which seemed to treat eight loaded coaches with total disdain, though admittedly a 25mph maximum is hardly taxing for her.

One puzzle; anyone know why Bellerophon, on the 1615 Bewdley to Kidderminster local made a couple of sharpish stops; once barely after leaving Bewdley and again just before the tunnel? She was certainly not short of steam on either occasion.

Had planned a couple of days at the gala; unfortunately, my father taken ill on Thursday rather changed my plans! Hence, only a few minutes at Bewdley possible. Very wintry conditions as snow showers made photting 'challenging'! Final image shows they make 'em tough on the footlate at the SVR!! Thanks again to all for making this event possible.

My video and a couple of photos from an enjoyable, if somewhat challenging at times, day at the gala!

If you've got access to FB, this shows 80072 up Eardington. It was up there with some of the best runs I've ever witnessed.
