More details - there is at least 150 images in the book covering numerous subjects, motive power, locations etc including some stunning images from a variety of known and lesser known photographers. It has been very well produced by Silver Link Publishing. Here is a link to see some of the images including possible purchase, see: http://www.thejetroom.co.uk/rail

An interesting collection of images but - apologies for being critical - in the 129 images shown in the gallery some images appear twice, some appear thrice and some captions have been incorrectly linked to their appropriate image. Whilst interested in buying the album I would be less willing if these errors appear in the published book version.

Aren't the duplications in fact the same picture with or without the caption so not duplicates at all? Some interesting pics but an awful lot of 3/4 shots in full sun.

Not according to the image numbers underneath each image; the link I used took me to a gallery of 129 images and each (with caption) was numbered consecutively from 1 to 129 hence my comment that some images appeared more than once and some captions didn't connect with the image shown.

I confirm that some duplication of the images is to show the image with and without the caption, The reason for that is to provide the option to purchase a print with or without the caption included but may be you missed that information on the website. I've have notice one/two captions with the wrong image which is unfortunate. Also 'Jet Room' are not showing all the images in the book either, just presenting those that are available to purchase. There are other image but they not available to purchase for numerous reasons. For information, the printing of the book was carried out by Silver Link Publishing and it is spot on for images and captions. In the circumstances, like with most things, do not judge before you have seen the actual book.

Thanks for the info Doug; not meaning to offend the quality of Silver Link production but - based on the "Jet Room" gallery - it looked as if the book would have easily recognised errors that would devalue the book as published. I note your comment re looking at the book itself and I will certainly do this before buying from one of the heritage lines to give them the benefit of sales income.

The "duplication" example I noticed was the silhouette image of the Black 5's at Ribblehead, with very similar images included by Nick Brodrick and John Cooper-Smith. I'm surprised that these both survived the "edit"?

While I agree with the comment above about the quantity of 3/4 sun shots, there are also some very nice images featuring more imaginative lighting / composition and I think the proportion of different image styles included is likely representative of what has been taken by "rail cameraman" over the past decades.

The credits under Nick Brodrick's photos appear to be to Nick Bridrick?

The duplication in this instance is down to the photographers themselves and it is just co-incidence they both presented an image taken at the same location / day as part of the four images submitted by them (along with the other photographers). They were I assume published besides the photographers personal choices but also to make an interesting comparision between the two images along with the different interpretation too?

Again a 'Jet Room' error not Silver Link Publishing.

Another photographic display is being planned for the second book entitled 'The Photographic Artistry of Rail Cameraman TWO' at the Warley Model Rail Exhibition, NEC Birmingham during the weekend of Sat/Sun, 23rd/24th November 2019, weres some of the photographers featured in the book will be in attendance as well as probably signed copies of the new book will be available to purchase.

The first book entited 'The Photographic Artistry of Rail Cameraman' has been a success and completely sold out at the publishers 'Silver Link' with the 'Railway Children Charity' receiving some proceeds from the sale of the book.
