LU used to have running powers to Quainton under old Met/GC arrangements from when the line was built. GW panniers used to run through to Aylesbury sometimes as part of the well known Croxley tip workings and I remember seeing an image of LU battery engines on a PW train to Aylesbury in the 80's or 90's so they were still active then. I wonder have those powers survived privatisation and if so if they are being used for this train? Anyone know?

Apparently the 4TC needed more work than anticipated? Hopefully we'll see it run at some point.

On Carl Watson's Eastleigh photos site there are pictures of the 4-TC having the horrible fake teak vinyl scraped off. Good.

Good indeed. Any bets being laid as to what livery will replace that?

Work on the 4TC confimed as the reason for postponement. http://class20locosociety.co.uk/events
Personally I hope it won't be rescheduled the August BH Monday, as I have been unable to get that day off work.

According to Heritage Railway Magazine, the class 20s and a class 33 will haul the 4TC on Sunday 29th April. The train will run Wembley Park - Quainton Road for the railway centre. Afterwards the train will run to Marylebone before reversing to West Ruislip.

  13. Mixing EE with sulzer is a dangerous mix.

You can probably guess where my interests lie but as long as it's mixed with 20 / 37 or 40 from the EE stable that's fine by me :D

Have you got an evil empire diesel loco with 750v ETH for the TC then?

It says "this will be the first time a Class 20 locomotive will run in passenger service on LU infrastructure." Surely Class 20s have been used several times in Steam on the Met.

They need a proof reader, "break van" o_O and 33012 was a class 33 last time I saw it
Interested in doing this if there's still any tickets left by the time I get to my PC.....
