By the Mailine title, that suggests running to Wareham for the gala?

The Purbeck Explorer 1 and 2 appear to be happening again: http://www.swanagerailway.co.uk/events/detail/the-purbeck-explorer-to-swanage
The use of LU's 4TC provides the main line stock for Swanage - Wareham Gala services.
Looks like D6515 is hauling it to Swanage on Thursday 10th May.
20 007 and 20 142 [first 2 visitors announced by inference] seem to be returning the unit on Sunday afternoon 13th May.
Single fares for either charter are £39.50 in advance or £45 on the day (subject to availability).
Swanage Railway's ticket line should open next Monday 5th Feb. so check webpage then.

This maybe a stupid question about the 4TC but is it possible for it to run propelled with a 33/1 or 73 as it would have been. Every photo I've seen seems to have it being pulled or top and tailed.

Not a stupid question at all.
The answer is yes but as the TC will be used, I understand , on a Wareham shuttle over the gala the 33/1 or 73 would have to be mainline registered and as having neither the TC will have to be toped and tailed

Also I don’t think the 4TC cabs are fitted with OTMR, TPWS etc. Therefore it’s only allowed to run on the mainline as hauled stock.

    That makes sense.

You can call it a weird craving but one thing I'd really like to see/ride on again is a 4TC being propelled by a 33/1 or 73 at either Swanage or Mid Hants

The 4TC was used with 33111 push/pull on evening internal trains vice the DMU last year.

Ian I guess that must have been on the fireworks trains for Carnival Week then. Annoyingly last year I never bothered to walk back via the station after the fireworks. Would have liked to see it work in "proper" mode and maybe go and have a ride.

Think you might be a bit confused there as all the evening services that have been running over last 10-15+ years did not run last year

Maybe I am, perhaps not evening services, but I'm pretty sure I saw photos of 33111 + 4TC last year?
