A challenging week with all the variations of Highland weather but worth going for the 17th year. The high level picture of Glenfinnan Viaduct sums it up, the train is in pouring rain but the coming sunshine can be seen on the right and the mega rainbow only appeared as were walking back down.

Very nice John. Where's the last one? Can't quite work it out.

It's at Glenfinnan Summit, to do it you have to ask the driver to keep steam on for a bit longer than normal. It was Ian Riley driving and he forgot so I just got this as he shut off. Not the best of pictures it was pouring an the time

The high shot of Glenfinnan and the reflection get my votes John.

Superb shots. I always love a monochrome image being included, so thanks for that @Johnb

Just think .... if it hadn't been for "The Jacobite", all those Harry Potter films might well have looked very different!

These are truly beautiful images, if that doesn’t move you to want to go up to the Highlands, I don’t know what will!

Thanks, there is something magical about the line and with little pollution when the sun does shine the pure light shows up the countryside in vivid colour, conditions I never see at home

The tavern next to the Grog and Gruel now does haggis in a whisky sauce. After that a pint of Red Cuillin in the Grog, a great way to round off the day

The Grog used to do a 'boar and haggis burger' - very nice indeed.
