    We don't do subterfuge 'cos we don't know what it means, we might do sneaky though.

    I happen to be heading up the M6 on Sunday 29th, is 45407 likely to be heading back home on this date?

    WCR have had to put out a press release via their Facebook page specifically stating that the train is called 'The Jacobite'. Perhaps unsuprisingly in this day and age, the BBC and other media outlets referring to it as 'The Hogwarts Express' caused WCR to get some attention from Warner Brothers lawyers.

    Copied and pasted from Facebook below;

    Statement from West Coast Railways, operators of 'The Jacobite' Steam Train, in respect of Warner Brothers trademark.

    It has been brought to our attention, by Warner Bros. Entertainment, that there has been a surge in improper usage of their trademark, 'The Hogwarts Express'. We would like to express our position on this: we are not associated in any way with Warner Brothers, incorporating the trademark of 'Harry Potter' and 'The Hogwarts Express' (which is a fictional construction, using locomotive No. 5972 'Hogwarts Castle', to transport the story characters from Platform 9 & 3/4 to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry - not the service or numerous steam engines we use between Fort William and Mallaig).

    There are certain similarities to our service and the fictional 'Hogwarts Express', including (but not restricted to) the carriages and the route through which it travels, but we must insist that these trips are not one and the same.

    We would like to state again, for absolute clarity, that we do not run 'The Hogwarts Express', we run 'The Jacobite' Steam Train and we are not associated with any of the following trademarked brands: Warner Bros. Ent., Harry Potter or The Hogwarts Express, and that 'Harry Potter' and all related names, characters and indicia are trademarks of and © Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. - Harry Potter publishing rights © J.K. Rowling.

    That being said, we would love to welcome all, old and young, wizard or 'non-magic person', to join us on board our spectacular journey of 'The Jacobite' Steam Train - to experience the Scottish Highlands from the opulent comfort of a true piece of British history.

    West Coast Railways.

    Not sure what WCRC are supposed to do if media outlets such as the BBC chose to report things in a certain manner.

    It seems a very heavy handed response from Warners if they have actually complained. There would not be a a cinematic Hogwarts Express without WCs input so to pretend the firm is not synonomous with it is rather churlish. Sure they may trade to some extent on a bit of reflected glory but it hardly impinges on Warners.

    That reads like a necessary piece of clarification and 'distancing' by West Coast of their train from anything else. Well done to them. Nobody should be the least bit surprised that Warner Bros are being very precious about their brand and the good news is that every time the BBC or any other piece of the media gets confused by the 'Hogwarts' link it's good news for WC who then can just shrug their shoulders and suggest that Warners talk to the appropriate media outlet.

    Agreed but its a pretty poor show that WC has been forced to act in this way given the good news story from which its emanated. A rather over zealous corporate legal assessment at Warners.
    On the upside WC might get publicity from the statement itself - ill wind etc.

    Roadworks on the A830 at Fassfern, road being resurfaced with traffic being led through in convoy. Waited around 10 minutes this morning. Further three way traffic control at Arienskill and temporary lights at Corpach. All adds to the fun!
