I'm guessing that Galatea will be on the CCE then as it has come back from Yorkshire

98818 on the Lune Rivers trip for her 'maiden voyage' was always the most likely rostering, and it makes sense. It's effectively a private train. Good luck to them.

Just wondering if anyone knows when Galatea returned to Carnforth? Original trip cancelled due to flooding and haven't seen anything on RTT since. Or is she still at York?

Thanks. If I were "in charge" I would leave her there till the 30th, steam her up and attach as pilot to the returning "Lune Rivers". Obviously that is NOT going to happen outside of my imagination!

I am just hoping that the preperations for the Lune Rivers charter include a repaint into authentic BR lined Green, fitment of BIL nameplates and that she carries her proper number of 35018:)

I think it was meant more in-house than private and the point made about it potentially being the MNs debut is valid. Better not to hire to other customers until proven so in that respect the Lune is ideal, especially as it features not the most demanding itinerary. No doubt in January 2017 it was envisaged 35018 undertaking some revenue earning role before the Lune but they are where they are with it.

If 35018 is being lined up for the Lune River trip I would guess that we should be seeing another test run fairly soon to make sure everything has been sorted.

Painting in West Coast maroon is well advanced, should look really good with the matching stock.

At least we now know that possibility is a load of horlicks because you wouldn't dare make such a public pronouncement if it were true ....... ;-)

    From the KWVR Facebook Page

44871 update - we've been informed that the planned move from Fort William to Keighley isn't to go ahead today. The loco is still scheduled to come to the Railway but it's now likely to be next week. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Looking on RTT the move from Fort William to Carnforth was cancelled "due to the signalbox not being open". Never seen that reason before!

Yes-I was originally just musing about something which seemed logical, but most unlikely. Now it seems that the plan is to double head the return. If so, should be something worth seeing.

Is there any sign of 45212 moving down to Southall? In three days' time, she is doe to work an SD charter from London to Swanage, but she is currently rather a long way away and given the restrictions on the Netley route, there isn't an obvious substitute to hand.

Nothing like leaving it to the last minute then, probably will not get to Southall until very late and due off shed at 0551 Thursday. Not great for the support crew.

45212 is stood in platform 3 at Grosmont as i type, so it would appear it is on its travels tonight.
