Having passed through Dent Station, LNE A3 Class 4-6-2 No. 60103 'Flying Scotsman' works along Dentdale with the return working of 'The Waverley' to York

I thought I'd do the last of Scotsman's Waverley's on Sunday and I was not disappointed! Here's a shot of us crossing Ribblehead on the return journey.

UK Steam has 45690 down for this Sunday's Waverley; is this still likely to be the case, and if so, does anyone know when the Jubilee will move to York for this? Thanks.

Think 45690 comes on at Hellifield as there is a move from Carnforth on Sunday morning to Hellifield.

Useful tipoff Steve. The Waverley in previous summers used the SSE loco stabled at York so I assumed likewise. Was FS originally advertised for the whole programme, I can't recall?

No. Leander for always down for one of the trips (possibly this one) while another was Scotsmen, but is now advertised as Leander.

I wonder if the Saturday move is a diesel "drag" for Leander? The timing is 75mph, but then there is a 60mph move onwards from York Holgate Siding to the NRM.

37669+47237+45690, + 11 through Cononley en route to York. The 37 sounded to be doing most of the work!

This is Hirst Lane, Saltaire, about 10.50 this morning.

As children in the late 1950s we used to play in the playground and watch the trains go by. Sometimes we would sit on the wall and watch. Now the lineside vegetation mostly obscures the view from the playground. The wall has been consumed by the vegetation, and security fencing would stop you sitting on it anyway. The overhead equipment means that it's almost impossible to get a decent photo.

Back in those days there was a northbound express that we used to call the 11 o'clocker. It was often a Jubilee or an A3, so the Waverley has been quite a nostalgic series for us. The Jubilee made a wonderful sound as it pounded away from Shipley, and you could still hear it a long way in the distance. P1010201.JPG

Does anyone know if Leander is working the train all the way back to York or if she's coming off at Hellifield?
