46115 has the Thames Clyde headboard on today. Full set of maroon mk1's. No Pullman livery or Mk2's as far as I could see.

Correct no Pullmans today thankfully, they are a pain to work with the inward opening doors.

Back at Hellifield 8 early after some brisk and noisy running. Armathwaite passed at 57 and from there until the regulator was eased for the Appleby stop we averaged 58 mph with quite a bit of 60ish....... Climb to Ais Gill also spectacular, 36 over the summit, and just to show there was steam to spare the valves had lifted at least half a mile earlier. I look forward to seeing the videos.....

An excellent record of this fine engine on the S+C, lets hope Smithy and his staff prioritise the Scots return to the mainline as soon as possible

Not sure if anyone has noticed other than me that the headboard today was the first one 46115 carried on her first mainline run on the S&C on the 16th Aug 2008 even though the tour was called the Settle & Carlisle Venturer .

Yes, I was thinking that myself. I dug out my shot from that day for comparison. 9 years to the day minus one.

Thought it was a nice touch for the last trip.
A lucky burst of sun on the northbound run at Shotlock tunnel.
