And 30053 is being used very sparingly at the moment to see it through to the end of its ticket in the Autumn, hence the current mix of weekday diesels and weekend steam.

The Swanage Facebook page on August 3rd said this "whilst 30120 is visiting for maintenance by our fitting staff"
That could be read as not come to Swanage to be used at all. Was it not due at the South Devon?

From the Swanage Facebook page this evening.

31806 will be hauling the 10:00 from Norden to Swanage, and then subsequent return departures from the seaside town back up the line at 10:40, 12:00, 13:20, 14:40, 16:00 and 17:20. She is planned to be in operation Wednesday to Friday, with 30053 and 30120 (both subject to availability/alterations) joining the running fleet later this week.

It's a tad damp at the Swanage Railway today - but a bit steamier than yesterday.

And the award for the tourist with the most appropriate umbrella goes to.....

Just to confirm Robin's comment it is more steamy today (as well as wet) U Class No 31806 makes an energetic departure from Swanage on the 14:40 to Norden during some of the heavier rain. IMG_4683.JPG

Just looked at the webcam. Yes, it is a bit moist. Here in Weymouth its sunny and we have had a bit of mizzle about 14.30, funny old weather

    Ha! Ha!

I believe that the award-winning tourist was, in fact, Japanese...

They must have been SO glad they didn't go to the Italian lakes....

Any idea on what the running dates are for the T9 this month? Hoping to come down again for another day trip, maybe have another trip on the Wareham section.

Good to know..You'd be as paranoid as me if you'd ever been on the receiving end of a collapsing roof!:)
