Has there been any information released about which loco is taking the workshop space vacated by 35028?

No surprise really given its uniqueness and the long-standing desire to see an A1/A2/A3/A4 line-up.

I'm looking forward to the day when it is announced that 35027 and 35022 are finally being tackled. It would be great if the latter was fit and ready for the 60th anniversary of the last Atlantic Coast Express in 2024 (as it worked the last down train in 1964), but although I'm a great fan of Bulleid Pacifics and the Southern in general, the priority given to 60532 over the two MNs is understandable, given we have 35006, 35028 and soon 35018 to enjoy.

Good news. I'm still hoping to see this Terence Cuneo poster recreated with Bittern and BP at Crewe: Giants Refreshed

One of the mags has a short update this month, reporting 45231 imminent return to traffic and off to Southall. Also 5029 has protracted boiler work, 60532 being worked on steadily and the Brit subject to axle repairs.

I read something recently that 60532 still hasn't had a spanner taken to it yet?

Pretty sure the opposite is true, it is very dismantled including middle pot out. The boiler and tender tank were visible from passing train not long ago. Aiming for completion next year I think?
Don't think 19 has been touched yet though. Maybe the spare boiler has had work.

Ahh! Fair enough maybe I'm getting my LNER Pacifics mixed up. Looking forward to seeing 60532 back in action the term 'beast' was meant for this machine!

Interesting update posted by Railway Magazine on Facebook:

"TOC STATUS FOR LOCOMOTIVE SERVICES LTD

CREWE-based Locomotive Services (TOC) Limited has announced that today, August 4th, the Office of Road and Rail (ORR) has granted the company a Train Operating Licence for the operation of charter passenger trains on the national network.

This means that means Jeremy Hosking's organisation has secured the three main approvals needed to operate - an ORR Safety Certificate, a Network Rail Access Agreement and an ORR Train Operating Licence.

Locomotive Services Ltd spokesman Peter Greenwood told The RM: "We have also recently secured a Network Rail gauging certificate for locos 'Royal Scot' and 'Braunton' on the routes which we will operate our first trains over being; Crewe to North Wales and Crewe to Cardiff."

More details will follow in the September issue of The Railway Magazine."

Little bit of competition for West Coast and DBC, can only be a good thing.

I believe that the colloquial expression to use is "Game on".

    Well done to all concerned.

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere but Locomotive Sevices Ltd (Icons of Steam) have announced that they have now got their safety certificate and operators licence so they are now a TOC. Be interesting to see what they come up with in the way of tours.
