T9 has apparently arrived at Norden for a short hire period.

the T3 and T9 side by side wil make a good comparison shot, throw some lighted rags in the smokebox, or have a steam generator hidden away in the coal space to provide some "effects" especially if a steam feed can be linked up to the whistle :) that would confuse more than a few

Don't believe what you see in the press as 100% fact

I never said it was fact. Just sharing what I'd read, and giving people the chance to discuss and correct it if they know otherwise. That's what a discussion forum is for.

Reading the official posts on the Swanage railway Facebook page it does seem fairly accurate though. 80104 out of action while damage is accessed and repaired, with the T9 hired in to cover.

Keep up at the back ;)
The 'bump' took the std4 and Manston out of use, so only 30053 is currently available.

The owners, SLL, say "Both locos will be out of service for some time, and as Manston was due to come out of service next July in any case, we may decide to start its 10 year overhaul now." http://www.southern-locomotives.co.uk/News/news.html

My turn in Swanage box today is punctuated by quite a lot of purposeful 'loco fettling' noises nearby.
