So what's left at OOC? Is it just the current shed, turntable etc has all now gone?

From the mainline inwards, there is the 1990s Heathrow Express depot - I don't think that's involved in the event. Then there is the 3-road HST shed, which dates from HST introduction in the 1970s. Then there is the GWR-era carriage shed, which (I think) dates from the 1930s and is quite an "atmospheric" building - very much NOT a steam loco shed, but a "steam era carriage shed". There is then a group of sidings with the truncated remains of a shed.

There are various other buildings, such as one built to support Class 180. Google Earth shows the CrossRail depot now extant on the site of the old loco depot - that has appeared since I last went to the Oak.

There's a list of the requested loco's in the latest Steam Railway. 1501's very appropriate though.

I can't see this comparing well with the last Old Oak spectacular, now that was an open day

A pedant writes : the forthcoming open day will very likely be the last one, the previous one was not the last one. :)

If it's within gauge in time, 5305LA are still having trouble trying to meet NR standards at the moment.

A bit of turning might be required then....
I wonder whether they will bother as she only has a short time left on her ML ticket.

Recently had some springs changed and other small adjustments are being made ready to get the engine back out onto the 'Big Railway'.
