Share your sentiments. Was looking forward to the usual October Explorer as it is always one of the highlights of the year but we too have booked on the Raider as Tornado over Shap and the S&C is a not to be missed occasion.

    +1.

And actually this is also bad timing as VT is fishing in the same Midlands pond. This one will test the loyalty of their customer base.

VT website still not accessible for me. PING www.vintagetrains.co.uk gets a response from IP address 195.8.66.1, but entering that into the address bar gets me "Virtual host not found on this server".

    Anyone having better luck?

Take it the Afternoon Harringworth Shuttle is fully booked? Or is it now only doing 1x return trip?

Update: Confirmed on page 53 of SR469. Only one Harringworth Shuttle.

I've just noticed that myself actually. Was just coming here to post about it but you beat me to it! I strongly suspect the second shuttle isn't happening anymore. The lunch shuttle provisional time has been put back an hour from 12:00 to 13:00 instead. Given how the shuttle journey time is 2 and a half hours and departure from Melton back to Tyseley is at 18:00, that doesn't leave enough time to service the locos and run the second shuttle. Luckily the lunch shuttle is the one that I'm booked onto! If the second one has indeed been cancelled as I suspect then it will be a shame for Harringworth Village, as I see from their Facebook page that they're holding a fete below the viaduct that day with steam-based stalls and stands in order for everyone to watch the two shuttles cross the viaduct.

I'm guessing 5043 is not booked for Shakespeare's and that its the Hall for the next few weeks?

I heard back in early spring that 4965 was sidelined subject to being re-gauged by NR. Hence 5043 replaced it on the Red Dragon back in March. I'd like to think this has been done and RAH gets a good seasons running on the Shakespeare's.

I've found the problem. The URL now is http://www.vintagetrainsonline.com/ but the link on UKsteam is https://www.vintagetrains.co.uk/

Edit: Further investigation establishes that http://www.vintagetrainsonline.com/ and http://www.vintagetrains.co.uk/ both work, but not if you start with with https:// which is the link on UKsteam.

October's Welsh Marches and November's Pannier Rambler to Bridgnorth both now listed on the main VT website.

The website says "Steam hauled throughout by Panniers Nos: 9600 & 9466" so I assume they're doing the SVR section as well.

It is our intent to use 9600 and 9466 all the way to Bridgnorth. It's about time 9600 was parked outside the Railwaymans and thence have it's picture taken for the wall. Much more photogenic than that picture of the A1 they have up. Have they replaced it yet GBJ? lol

More tours coming online soon. I am not worried about the A1SLT / PMRT offering a railtour on 16th September also. There are more than 400 potential passengers in the Midlands!

Confirmed times for the Melton Rambler and Harringworth Shuttle have now appeared on the VT website, although there is as yet no sign of them on RTT. Also 5043 has now taken the place of 4965.
