Am I right in thinking this loco is still being run in?

You are right, a good illustration of why a well engineered overhaul doesn't need 1000 miles running in on a heritage line.

Is it my imagination or does Clan Line now seem to romp up Gomshall even faster than she used to and she wasn't hanging about then?

Chatting to Wayne on Sunday he referred to the Gomshall climb a couple of times - I think he was suitably impressed and on both Wednesday and Sunday the climbs to MP31 and Battledown were high quality, and on Sunday to Buriton was superb as I think you know, so I think we can assume she is back at least to her best, if not better.

The other comment I would make is that there seems to me to be evidence of excellent combustion - and whilst the white feather wasn't flying all the way there always seemed to be plenty of hot steam when needed - good old OVS could build a boiler!

As soon as you could hear her, the skies opened. Through the pouring rain at Putney, 11/7/2017.

I wouldn't be surprised if she's going better, having had a casting defect in the middle cylinder rectified during overhaul.
