Thanks, Winchfield looked good but the late running 35028 was due same time as the Basingstoke stopping service for some time. Only the speed restriction at Woking slowed 35028 enough to pass a minute after the 'stopper'. Just down to luck today really.

Well everyone did better than the guy from Amey consulting checking a culvert south of Beaulieu Road today.
The tablet he had been using to make notes and photograph the culvert parapets locked up just as 35028 came into sight.
He wasn't too worried, but was pleased to see steam on the mainline and it was NOT Flying Scotsman!

    Cheers, Neil

By far the best whistle to experience at speed! Think the goosebumps will take ages to die down...

35028 thundering past Worting Junction a bit earlier. She's a credit to the MNLPS, and to the team at Crewe who have overhauled her. Video to follow later... ;)

Only if you are a Southern fan. I suspect those from up North will compare it to a Duchess and say, no contest! That said, it was a terrific shot and full of atmosphere. I was at Fleet where I bumped into Marcus of Steam Dreams fame. Not many enthusiasts on Fleet station but a platform full waiting for a delayed London service. One can only wonder at what they must have thought as Clan Line race through. The clag from the chimney resonated for some minutes after she passed. Video up later.

My rather uninspiring effort rounding the curve on the approach to Christchurch, still really moving along though.

I was at Winchester which was fairly busy. Apart from the few enthusiasts most didn't even notice despite a long whistle.

Agreed. A Merchant, even a rebuilt one, is far superior. :)

Surbiton outward run, we were also treated to a nice Bulleid Whistle through the station.

Here she comes, 35028 6 minutes down but going well. Get ready for a whistle blast and a load of clag. Magical.
