First the puffer and then in for a pint. LMS 8F Class 2-8-0 No. 48151 works across the B6255 and passed that well known watering hole the 'Station Inn' on the
approach to Ribblehead Viaduct with the northbound 'Dalesman'

    Crossing the viaduct going well

Speeding passed the old goods shed at Kirkby Stephen, LMS 8F Class 2-8-0 No. 48151 makes a fine sight with the returning 'Dalesman' rail tour

Like the Kirkby Stephen one with the goods shed Shep. Well composed and a good choice for a day with an easterly wind.

A good day despite the iffy weather, traction to suit various tastes. Comment by one first timer looking at the 8F watering at Appleby, 'what a gorgeous looking beast' what the driver I asked? 'Well I suppose he's OK as well'.......... Mr Chipperfield will have to be happy with OK.

A steady run to Carlisle, nice sunny day and not too hot. Ice cream seller at Appleby very busy. Today's train has a few empty seats but I believe tomorrow is full.

With load 13, how many bums on seats will that be roughly, taking into account POB, kitchen car etc compared to the Jacobite, (which I think is 7 and doesn't have either POB or kitchen car?). Just wondering how far off the Dalesmans are to the equivalent to a double Jacobite working.

    64 in a standard coach, 48 in a first/dining and 32 or 40 in a brake (depending on 4 or 5 compartments and if WCRC have 4 a side)
Not sure of mix of standard against other classes.

I think it's 6 first/dining and about 4 standard equivalent ( one buffet and one brake).
