Cracking day out at the North Norfolk on Saturday, £12.50 for a day rover, 3 round trips, plus 2 Sheringham - Weybourne journeys. 3 loco's D182/46045 8572 and 76084 in action. Nice little day out was had, both 8572 and the standard sounded nice and loud as they climbed the bank up to Holt. Anyone who hasn't been, please go have a day out there, I always come back from a day out at the NNR with a huge smile on my face! It really is a smashing little railway.

Looking forward to seeing WD 90733 at the gala.

Maybe they could swap 90733 for 90775, as the WD 2-8-0 was a type seen on M&GN lines.

    (I jest of course!)

Would love to see an East Anglian themed gala one day, with the B12, Y14, maybe a B1, Ivatt 4MT, N7, a Britannia... though I realise that would be a challenge to organise!

Cracking phot of D8 there, not a fan of big Sulzers but 44008 was pretty special, know it's a bit of a pain to tow it anywhere being vac braked but are we going to see it make a few more visits away from home? Cracking event well done to all those who did the dirty work, was rather worth the silly o'clock start and detour to Yarmouth yesterday morn!

2 of mine from Saturday, was a really enjoyable day out for me, just frustrating to see 37218 OOU at Weybourne! Was still pretty decent to have 2x 20's and 3 different 37's in Norfolk on Saturday. Again well done all concerned. Here's to 2018!

Just read on the M&GN Society FB page that the WD was scheduled to haul it's first public service since it's overhaul today, hope it went smoothly.

Really enjoyed a short trip on the NNR today. Had expected the QuadArts as website advertised this, but suburban Mk1s were running instead. Was expecting disappointment as a result (not a fan of Mk1s, or rather would always choose something older and more interesting) but was impressed by quality of restoration. The beautiful blue 564 and ever handsome B12 went down well with whole party. Weybourne marvellous as ever, Holt (which I haven't been to for a long while) had a lot of interesting other attractions. My three year old loved the locos (from a safe distance and holding daddies hand) and the twins (not quite one) were entranced throughout. All NNR staff/volunteers we encountered were friendly and helpful. I didn't even regret the QuadArts in the end...

Thanks for the positive feedback, particularly regarding the suburbans!

Out of interest, please could you send the link to the website page that you found advertising the Quad Arts in service this week, as it was known many many months ago that the Quads were not being used in 2017, so it would be welcome to see where this information may have "slipped through the net"...

I rather like the subs, they're rather interesting pieces of rolling stock, the NNR is pretty good at being able to give a good explanation of the commuter story with the quads, subs and the 101 DMU. And a decent selection of appropriate motive power, 1744, D5631 and D6732 Looking forward to my next day out there, don't know when it'll be but it'll be soon!

Says so here http://www.nnrailway.co.uk/whatsrunning.php also no mention of loco's involved, no mention of the subs week on special event page. Also when you try looking for a timetable there's nothing there too, just a link to last years quads page. Someone needs to have a word with PIC of website. As an aside I had some difficulty finding out what DRS had sent for the Diesel gala, in the end I got fed up using the website and rung the Booking Office, things like this should be kept up to date. Sorry to have a moan after being so positive in my previous post but it looks like it's something that needs really needs a good look at. As I say don't mean to be negative but...

Cheers for that, I think the website is due for replacement this year, I will ask around...
