An impressive turnout of passengers for War on the line today. All three six coach trains were packed from first thing this morning until we left at around 5pm. Only managed to get seats on the 16.05 from Alresford behind 925. Blimey, I don't know what the folks at Ropley MPD have done during her recent maintenance work but she is even louder than before. An astonishing roar from the Schools Class as she tackled Medstead bank with six on. 92212 also put on a magnificent show with the delayed 11.15 service from Alton.

Or do you go for the classic 1930s look with scrubbed decks and white awnings? or the full WWII Battleship Grey to BS381C? :)

    Sorry.
I did recall that somebody had mentioned it but I couldn't remember who it was. Still, she sounds superb.

The car park at Ropley did look to be getting full this morning when I went by.

Just a reminder that the Urie Locomotive Society Open Day is happening at Ropley tomorrow. People who attended last time they had an Open Day were, I believe, NR0106.jpg suitably impressed. I look forward to the day that 506 will be once again standing in Ropley yard in full working order.

Spoke to Mark from the Urie Group earlier and he told me they had a very successful day. So well done to them and thanks to everyone who showed an interest. I was working on lineside clearance today, and got absolutely cooked.

He looked & sounded a very happy man when I saw him, so its sounds the open day was a worthwhile day. :)

Anyway, after a very long hot & sweaty day up at Medstead helping prep the wagon rake for the up & coming gala, where we absolutely roasted - there is no respite from the sun up there :( :Arghh: a few from me from this evening.........

The 4MT returned recently and was looking shiny in the yard, ready for next weekend.

There was some very welcome rainfall last night. Even the 9F slipped on one occasion departing Ropley by the yard exit.
    Roll on the Gala.
@Duty Druid, @Hampshire Unit - Will you be bringing us sneak previews of the deliveries this week?

Doubt I will - can't get there till Saturday, so @Hampshire Unit is probably your best bet for a shed scene Friday.......

Just as a note as I know a lot of photographers go up there, Hampshire Hunt Bridge is apparently to be closed at some point in the fairly near future due to structural problems, according to an MHR bridge inspector I met up there this morning. I don't know the extent of the issues nor when the bridge is likely to be shut, if anyone knows anything further then I'd be interested...
