    Evening all,

This seemed like the most prudent place to put this being its nether steam nor diesel.

As you may or may not know the DFR has one of these that has been out of use for a few years, but stored under cover/tarps etc. Recently we took it as a dispaly piece to Coleford Transport Festival and the reaction it got was brilliant. Lots of 'Oh I've always wanted a go on one after seeing*insert film/tv show here*'.

The result of which is muggins here has been tasked with getting the bugger up to scratch to be used again! The timberwork is solid if a bit scuffed, and we have a potentially cracked drive gear, which is no real drama. The real question I have is regarding the bearings. Having had a look at them they look like basic greased bushings rather than ball or roller bearings however I am more than happy to be put right. I have attached a picture showing said bearings and I was wondering if they are supposed to have this much 'slop' in them or whether they are worn to buggery?

    Cheers for any help!

If they were worn they would be oval, surely?

Looks pretty oval in pic 2 - that's a big gap at the bottom of the axle.

It is rather, as its a definite after work project with the other fella, we shall be having a set to with the spanners and seeig whats what in the coming week. If anything it should prove an interesting diversion.

Shall be keeping up to date on here for those interested!
