City of Birmingham - mainly because everyone says you shouldn't and its trapped etc. If I end up with the money to pay off Birmingham City council to do that, I expect I can buy my own 35 mile main line to play trains with it on! My horn by duchess just isn't a good runner so I think I can justify a £40 million investment to the Mrs!

41708 & C1/33001 are good shouts as is Lion (in Lions case just to have a go at a remake of a certain film Heresey to some maybe but I'd like the part of Mr Valentine! Seens as usually I end up in the buffet car at all railways I visit!) Is there any news on 41708? Didnt Pete Waterman try to buy it? And as Regards the Charlie, I have a sneaky feeling it might end up at Mid Hants maybe not right now but in a few years time perhaps.

We'll be trying something like this during our S160 Weekend in May, with 5197/6046 expected to doublehead 7x coaches with the 33 on the back.

Honestly, I'd go with 4003 Lode Star, due to the fact that 2999, 1014, and 6880 aren't far 0ff from being completed. This means that we'll have all examples of the GWR 4-6-0 in steam together.

Rather interesting to re-visit Tom's comments from late 2014 in view of recent developments with this engine!

I agree, although to be utterly pedantic, it wouldn't quite represent every type...

not forgetting the pre-Saint 4-6-0s that were always slightly different to the standard locos. I do like that one though.... replica anyone?

has to be a black motor, or the adams 0-60 tender loco it would of course mean 2 more new builds, ( dons steel helmet, takes up position in sanger) and awaits the WIBN police
Im not talking a J94 bodge job, but i dare say if we scrapped enough and used the boilers and pistons etc, with new wheels and frames we could start up a recycle business, give us your old unloved Austerity/ J94, Bucket etc, and and recieve a referbished pre grouping look alike 0-6-0 Tender engine :)
