To answer my own question, the B1 is moving by rail, provisionally 28/2.

It's wasted where it lives should be on the mainline, I bet it would be a good performer on the Jacobite service...

Strongly disagree it's wasted, but yes it would be well suited to the Jacobite. Not too "tall in the wheel", to use the local vernacular, for the curves, strong and sure footed. The narrower tender helps running backwards too.

Any (at least outline) timetable yet, was mentioned 2/2/17?

I would not fancy a loco like that tender first in the sort of weather that is common in that part of the world. How wet do you want the crew to get?

Fair point but East Lancashire is not exactly the riviera and it seemed fine to me in all weathers. I will admit to being biased, won't hear a word against the Crab.
Others may disagree of course and it is very unlikely a chance to find out will occur.

All well and good but if every loco that is suitable for main line running became certified for such, there wouldn't be anywhere near enough work to go round.
Anyway, it's earning its keep on railways where those who can't afford a main line trip can still enjoy the sight and sound of a Crab at work.

Or perhaps not going at all?

13065/61264/75078/5820/43924/90733/85/1054/Nunlow - enough to cover things? Could be reason for no timetable yet?

13065 arrived today. Now at Haworth ready for duties next week.
    61264 arrives Tuesday 28th late evening off the mainline - Runs Grosmont/York/Wakey Kirkgate/Whitehall Curve/Keighley/KWVR

The situation with the Black 5s are fluid. Alot of work going on behind the scenes as you may imagine.
They may come, they may not. They were only passing through whilst stabling for mainline railtour duties on the Sunday. We'll see.
4F 43924 will probably not steam due to a re tube (which was on going but the chap doing it has personal duties to attend to)

Timetables - I'm waiting for the web man to do them! I've had them for weeks.

I've noticed on the UKsteam.info railtour page that The Tin Bath on the Sunday, which is to be pulled by 45212 and 45407 is cancelled. Does this mean that 45212 and 45407 could be running for the whole of Saturday and Sunday if The Tin Bath is indeed cancelled?

If you read what has been written just 3-6 posts above, you will see it is not yet known.

Looking at the timetable the selection of locos is wonderful. I can't see the point of hiring in the two Black 5s which would eat up a huge amount of the event income. What would you do with them if you got them?!

I would certainly agree about 45407, looking at the timetable it shows that if both were to come, quite a few of the B1's turns would be taken, which would be a shame as this is probably one of the main attractions as it hasn't been seen off the NYMR in quite a few years now. It would be nice to see 45212 as it is owned by the railway, but I'm sure other opportunities will arise in the next 10 years!

With the crab and B1 already, why waste money bring in the two Black 5s as well? I cannot see the extra revenue generated covering their hire and transport cost ,now the Tin bath isn't running.

Is it a part of the loan deal perhaps that a 5 spends some time there? May not be a cost if so.
