Great pictures. Nice to see this fine Loco back in action at last. She was another BR Standard Pocket Rocket when she was on the Main Line in the 1990's.

Trains running until the last day if the year. Hopefully we shall see many visitors - providing the major roads in Somerset are not iced up again ;) - who can enjoy a final steam railway thrill. Only six weeks before the new season commences so those not able to make it now can look forward to the future dates.

In the first train, the loco seems to be struggling with seven on. The reverser appears to be well down the rack but it is difficult to be precise. The subsequent trains only had six on and it appeared to be more on top of the job. It could simply have been a lack of the stuff that makes it go, though and it was on a 15 mph speed limit.
My memories of 75014 when on the NYMR are that it wasn't particularly strong but that was a long time ago now and much will have happened to it since. Anyone more involved able to comment?

As you say, in the first shot she appears to be lower on steam pressure - certainly the safeties are not sizzling like they are in the next shot. I have it on good authority that she was good with 10 on during the Santa specials.

The first shot shows it on a Santa Express train which we typically run at a lower speed due to having activities such as the pantomime on the train needing time to complete their performances etc... On that day it was only 7 coaches but during the Xmas period we had 10 coaches and the engine performed perfectly.

Trains between Xmas and New Yrs are only load 6 which is comfortably meeting passenger loadings. These trains run at normal speed.

Thanks for the response. The original post did say post Christmas, though, which was why I was intrigued.

The Standard 4 has made a lovely sight and sound over the last few weeks. The whistle is rather nice and will no doubt be a good advert for the railway.

Had a great trip on the Santa and all the family suitably impressed. Well done to all involved.

Apologies that they are perhaps not the most conventional of photos but hopefully of interest.

    Happy New Year.

Here is the 2017 timetable for you all to have a glance at. Not to different from 2016 but a few tweaks here and there.

    http://www.dartmouthrailriver.co.uk/web/data/page_files/Timetables/2017/FINAL bookmkDL2017RRKCB.pdf

14, 15 & 16th July is the 4th annual Beer Festival. This is typically the main event of the year with double heading and 25 action normally available.

The Dartmouth Regatta is on 24, 25 & 26th August although this isn't a specific railway event, mostly a normal running day with evening trains and possible the 25 out and about again.

Also if your interested there are photo charters (op by Timeline Events) with 75014 on Mrk 1s and freight on March 12th and 13th.
