What if 73096 is partially stripped and not able to be moved? i did hear talk of that it was planned to move the STD 5, but it coundnt because a start had been made on stripping it but nothing official , was there a path activated but cancled for this move? unles she moved by road and no one reported it but by now if she was at Carnforth it would have been noted. thats why i think she is still at Southall

...or our Maritime history. The BI line had become part of the P and O group long before the loco was built, but continued with it's separate identity right through to the 1970's. Fascinating history with some memorable passenger/cargo liners/troopers and school cruise vessels. Nice to see the name living on :)

the important thing though is this, in 2017, hopefully its looking likily that there will be two active MN's on the mainline, if you add 34046, thats 3 southern mainliners

Why should 73096 be moved to Carnforth? It is still owned by John Bunch.

Problem is , as in all JB's engines nothings clear cut, i suspect most of his mainline fleet , except for the 3 mogols are in joint ownership i wouldn't be surprised if he still has shareholdings in all of them still, to verifying degrees, that 35018 , 34016 are dispite it saying are in WCRC ownership are in fact part owned by JB still. look to the past ownership issues over any engine JB has been involved in,

Please don't start all that, I'm sure John Cameron has enough to worry about!

If memory serves, 73096 was supposed to pass to his son.

i'm not 100 percent sure on that, but i was in the Manor one day when JB stated 31874 was held in trust to James, and 31806 in trust to his Daughter, this in answer to a question about what if the company crashes and as a shareholder you are liable ,its the sort of question we had in those days, when it looked like the line could fold any day, :( So he will no dought have multiple owners on paper but i reality no one knows who really owns the locos, he owns them, and controls them, but on paper it can be several people such as his father in law, Richard heather, and i think other names, BI changed owner on paper several times, from richard and John, to just john, then norman, then back to johno_O

Sounds similar to 34105. 35018 was linked to Mr Heather just before it went to Carnforth. Anyway, water under the bridge- there's a new MN in the offing.

34105 is partly owned by the MHRPS, I am not sure of the percentage nowadays, however I believe a few smaller shareholders have gifted their shares to the preservation society over the years.

Anyway getting back to topic, it will be great to see the prototype Jarvis rebuilt Bulleid pounding along the mainline soon.

have to agree with the last paragraph, hopefully 2017 will see 3MN's in action, wouldn't it be good to get all 3 together in one place during 2017, it would have to be somewhere rail conected though to get Clan line , most likily venue has to be the bluebell

isnt 35028 planned to be pounding up the mainline on that week end? only way this could happen is if a couple of tours are organised that bring both engines to the sea side and return deisel hauled over the period of the week before and its just the 3 engines only no home fleet , ok maybe the U on a freight,

it will be interesting to see what does turn out to be BIL's first rail tour post Preservation when does the S&C reopen ? i have this picture of Appleby stn with 35028 taking water at one end, 35018 taking water at the other end, and each trainload of passengers watching the other engine , rather than the one hauling their train :)
