6046 is being used on the 16.35 to get the loco back to New Bridge prior to its departure by road. As is the reason why 69023 is going back to N.B.

    Conflicting info

NELPG, WTT info has Joem piloting 1440 ex Grosmont to Goathland with K1 while NYMR info doesn't

I am travelling up a long way to be there tomorrow, so any updates on what I might expect to find on the 09.50 from Pickering would be really appreciated even if it is D7628. Thanks.

76084. D7628 just did one Grosmont - Whitby, then 76084 came out to play again.

Alas 69023 did NOT do its planned run on the diner today. 63395 did the run by itself. JOEM is here & working though.

Really pleased to see the Q6 plod into Goathland WITHOUT J72, as were lots of others.

    Only reason we visited today

Over zealous control or crew taking too long at MPD were reasons being discussed as to why the train left Joem behind????

If it was to keep trains to time, I'd imagine with it being a special weekend and final days of daily running, few would of been bothered........

    Real shame

Be zero chance of it piloting 1440 to Goathland tomorrow now with only 3 minutes at Grosmont & Goathland for adding / detaching J72

Out of interest were the 'lots of others' photters? I was with a number of visitors only travelling and many there to get ride behind JOEM over whole of NYMR. They were not exactly happy bunnies. Most hastily revised bash plan A and returned from Goathland to see if 69023 doubled headed the next train out of Grosmont. It didn't but ran light to Goathland instead ...??!!

One recurring problem with NYMR is down at punter level, no personnel have a clue what is going on.

Today's highlight was rolling into Grosmont on last Whitby behind 61264, just as 62005 was moving off the ex Whitby, with 63395 waiting to take over. These bursts of concentrated steam make visits to NYMR so memorable and something almost impossible to capture digitally.

Let me assure you that the crew did not take too long at the shed - we could not get there until the Q6 had come off - then we took water, coal, quick oil round and prepare the fire in less than 15 mins (20 mins allowed) only to see the Q6 set off without us as we were about to go back to the station. A very frustrating situation for everyone not least the crew who bust the proverbial gut to get back on to the train with minimal delay. We were really looking forward to that trip. I do not know what the cause of the initial delay was but it was not down to the J72. I understand that Control decided to send the train out without us as it was a Whitby connected train and had to be back on time so as not to delay Northern services.

Great day yesterday despite the TT gradually unravelling to be 35 late at the end of the day. This initially appeared to be due to a delay obtaining access to NR for the 13.30 departure to Whitby. The real bonus was the use of Joem piloting the K1 on the 14.40 departure from Grosmont after all, which eventually left 20 mins late. The J72 returned immediately on the rear of the 15.30 ex Goathland. A very enjoyable day that made the 380 mile round trip totally worthwhile.

Many thanks Peter, certainly appreciate your efforts, real shame that others couldn't.

Did both days, so caught up with Joem on the 1440 Grosmont to Goathland on the Sunday, certainly a really good trip.

Solid performances from 62005 and 63395 as well.

Last train in ended up 50 late from Pickering on the Sunday.
