Thank you. I think we are seeing the same screen but on further investigation, the prospectus seems to have been published in something called issuu, which is I assume like blurb, presumably to save costs, at least as far as non-hard copies are concerned. IMHO, it is more difficult to read and navigate than for a pdf unless you have a monstrous screen, plus there are irritating spammy adverts which lowers the tone of the something designed to get £000 out of readers.

I'm sure the office would post you a prospectus, if you said you wanted to help.

I'm pleased to see that the track is in the proper position to allow for future doubling. You lads should have built the Borders Railway!:)

I believe £800,000 may now have been raised by the share issue!

As there will be no blog today (and for a couple of sessions, due to holidays) I'll post a few pictures here.

A useful development today was that a duct was laid across the station approach to a newly planted alternative BT telegraph pole. This will allow the current pole, a few feet from the station rebuild and whose guy wire cuts right across the new doorway to the booking office, to be removed and replaced with an underground duct which will run all the way along the drive.

Good news on the replica GWR lamp post front too. The first three castings were delivered on Wednesday, fresh from the foundry and looking perfect. Today we planted them along the southern end of platform 1. The tops will go on nearer the opening day.
We expect lamp post deliveries to be made at a rhythm of 3 per week from now on.
If anyone is interested in buying some from us, that is possible, and the GWSR will make a small profit which we are allowed to spend on other heritage items. We already have something in mind :) Drop me a pm for more details. We are also thinking about commissioning a quantity of ball topped cast iron gate/fence posts, and if this idea meets with approval, we could sell these too. About a dozen would be needed at Broadway.

After sorting out Laverton loop and the former temporary storage siding, track laying towards Broadway is expected to resume very shortly, as soon as more concrete sleepers have been laid, onwards from Little Buckland bridge. 28 pairs of new rail have just been delivered for this purpose.
£450.000 still needs to be raised in the share issue, so please invest if you can, to keep the momentum going.

Will the grey electrical cubicle be moved from pride-of-place on the platform once the station building is complete?

I wish... it's also in the way of the line of the spearhead fence to come. We shall see.

Perhaps a lamphut or other such suitable small building could be built around it?

Thank goodness for Breva, at least we will enjoy regular updates on Broadway whilst the usual bloggers appear to be on holiday (I thought they had 4 revolving contributors. Are they all away at the same time?!).

Yes they are. All being retired we wait until the school holidays are over to get cheaper holidays! Saturdays are the main problem as there is usually only one blogger working then.

A few pictures of the Wednesday activities are attached. Not only is the team of blog operators on holiday, but some of them are also brick layers :-(

The descriptions of the photographs are:

012: The 3 reproduction GWR lamp posts planted last week get a first coat of primer from our painting team (later they assisted in the repair of the underside of the road bridge, of which a report should follow on the bridges blog in a day or so.)
016: A new trench was (partly) dug from the building to the corner of the roadway outside, to contain a conduit for three GWR No.2 lamp posts which will be placed along the Cotswolds stone wall on the opposite side. The building itself originally did not have any outside lighting, so lamp posts opposite are a way around this.
018: A view inside the building, where our block layer can be seen busy on the concrete blocks which will form the back of the fireplace in the cafeteria. In the foreground is the wall between the booking and ticket offices. The gaps for the hatches are not quite in the right place yet. Drawings for reproduction ticket hatches have been made, based on the one original that we have managed to find along the whole of the line - Yardley Wood! It was quite a search, luckily crowned with success. There are no other originals along the Honeybourne Line, those along the still operating section nearer Brummingham being made of stainless steel, with that one exception.
019: Here you can see our one brick layer today, who put up the two corners on the northern end, and did some of the brickwork in between. The room in view is the Gents' toilet.

A supporter has sourced several 100 2 x 3 slabs for us, free of charge, which we will use for the platform surface under the canopy, as per original. This is excellent news. A small team collected a number of these today, with more to come. The slabs will give a more authentic feel than the modern tarmac you sometimes see.

No update on Saturday, alas, as your humble contributor is having a day on the cushions. A rare event indeed! The destination is Weymouth, on a CLPG special.

Thanks Jo, I was one of the team getting the slabs (2 x 2 1/2 sizes - to go with the 170 2 x 3's we got before), so pleased to hear what else went on whilst we were away from site.

When we got back, a team of us joined the ones working on Sustrans formation, north of our site. We were finding the catch-pits that were left due to the bird nesting season. We managed to find the four missing ones, in heavily overgrown areas, some took several fores into the brambles to find. We cleared the area around them and removed a lot of debris, including several covers, so that Andy P can bring his team up to put addition rings on them and remove the rest of the debris. This will ensure that water from our track bed, from the north end of the platform has a clear path away, hopefully saving us from flooding issues.

On Friday BT came and finally took away the telegraph pole that was located close to the new building. Its guy wire cut right across the main door! A new pole was erected on the other side of the road.
The posts down the driveway were also removed, the whole route near the station now runs underground.

Updates have been posted on the bridges and extension blogs.

The company website now gives a share total raised of £812.000. £438.000 to go, still quite a lot, so do try and help.

Is there a date when the Share Issue has to close, or does it stay open until the money is raised?

The EIS offer ends a year after it was launched, but I think you can still buy shares after that without the tax benefit, after all they're just shares in the PLC.

Breva: is it intended to try and get the station building water-tight for the winter, or is getting a roof on it that quickly a bit optimistic? I know the bricklaying teams can only work at a given pace, and then presumably you need all the metalwork that is being fabricated down the line.

Getting it water tight is too optimistic. We're working as fast as we can, but making predictions is not realistic. We're just going along at a steady pace.

Last I heard was that they would try to get some trusses on at the year end, after a trial assembly at Toddington. That is only the frame of course. There will be corrugated iron sheets and a lot of glazing over the platform too, as well as fitting the roof round one real and one fake chimney.

I don't think you need the brickwork to put the roof on. The original building was built that way, but this modern one uses a steel frame inside the bricks to support the canopy.

There is a wish that the brickwork be finished by the year end. We shall see. At the moment the brick laying is hampered by holidays. All the action is with the PWay!

The FD's letter to shareholders today is relevant here.
