A couple of bits of loco news; 30120 arrived today; my understanding is that it will be having a water change and steam test and be assessed for entering service as soon as possible. Dates will be advised as soon as I am aware.

Another visiting loco tomorrow will be 46115 Scots Guardsman, which is visiting on a 'Swanage Belle' railtour; this will be the first visit of a 'Scot' to the Swanage branch.

Apologies for the late notice, but it is planned for 30120 to be in traffic from tomorrow through to Sunday. 31806 will be the other loco over the weekend.

Usual caveat of 'subject to availability' applies.

Great to see the T9 ready to lift its five carriages confidently upgrade out of Swanage with the 10.00 to Norden and about to pass to pass 34070 30053 and 31806. Amazing to see four different genuine SR classes in one viewfinder- well done Swanage Railway. A fantastic summer morning but a challenge for photography I fear.

Thank you, Nick. If you have the time, please do keep us posted regarding future running dates for 30120. I'd love to come and have another ride behind it, but in view of the round trip being over 200 miles from here, I'd rather wait for somewhat cooler weather. Do you know how long the engine is planned to stay at Swanage?

The loco is here for the summer, being required back at Bodmin at the beginning of September in readiness for their Steam Gala on 9/10/11 September.

Are there any dates in late July or early August for her to run? Will be making the trip down since I'm free then!

Thank you as always, Nick. Hopefully an August visit can be squeezed in, even though the prospect of the A27, M27 and A31 in the summer holiday season is distinctly unappealing. Still, perhaps you can bring her back next year and I'll be able to avoid all the traffic by taking SW Trains to Wareham and then a DMU connection!

The current plan is for 30120 to be in service over the weeks of 1-7, and 15-21 August.

This seems to be a regular outing for the T9 - although I live in Cornwall and have numerous photos of her around Bodmin, I have to admit that she looked good working on the Swanage Railway. No decent gradients, though, compared to the ones we have in Cornwall!

But she can haul 5 coaches at Swanage. Rather than 3? at B&WR.

First day of our Peak season timetable today, with 30120 and 34070 'opening the batting'; just a quick reminder that if anyone is planning on making a visit this week, there will be an opportunity to travel from Corfe Castle to the Limit of Swanage Railway Operations at Bridge 4 on our Class 108 DMU on Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 July.

No trains will be running between Corfe Castle and Swanage on these dates due to filming taking place.

Nick, A belated thanks for keeping us all posted about 30120. It looked great on Saturday and even managed to put out some exhaust on two occasions when it passed me - not the voluminous clouds which all the locos put on at the gala, but not too bad considering how warm the weather was.

Any news on which locos will be in action on Friday 29th July? Plotting a visit!

Most likely to be 31806 and 34070. 30120 will be due for water change, and 30053 is under maintenance.

Just a note to say that Swanage Railway services are back to our normal Peak season timetable today (Wednesday), with 30120 and 34070 in traffic (30120 on the 10:00 from Norden and 34070 on the 10:00 from Swanage). 31806 is planned to replace 30120 tomorrow (Thursday).

Shunting after the filming job over the last couple of day ended up finishing at 04:12 this morning; I should think we were probably the only heritage railway in the country with 3 diesel locos shunting round into the small hours this morning! And on that note, I think it might be time to sleep...

Just looked on the website. Appears to be extra diesel trains on Saturday 30th and Wednesday the 3rd.

Anyone know what will be operating them?
