Lowloaders returned to Ingrow: 45212 and tender. I spent 4 hours at Ingrow today, great!

Nice to see the KWVR is able to ship in/out stock again.

Looks like 45212 is repaired but hasn't been painted yet so I'm guessing that is going to be an 'in house' job before a return to Mr Riley's custody & hopefully a spot of mainline running?

Just a thought, as Mr Riley's new engineering base is not rail connected & the KWVR has a mainline connection, could the engine be based on the KWVR rather than the ELR when not required for mainline work?

Don't the NYMR have a shared agreement too? Not sure what the % is though. Surprised it has come 'home' only to leave again for mainline testing, or could testing start from Keighley???

IIRC the last overhaul was a restore & run type agreement with Pete Best/NYMR (??)

The current one is a new deal with Mr Riley from what I have read.

I did wonder about mainline testing starting from/to the KWVR & even future LE movement re Mr Riley's mainline work hence my post.

Quote from Ian Riley on 'The Works' forum:

"Actually no, we had a meeting with the NYMR this week and they are quietly confident that they have enough steam locos visiting this year without the need for 45212.

So the intention now is to return the loco to our new works in Heywood following painting and running-in at KWVR and air braking the loco."

    Hope this helps
