Torbay Express 2016

Discussion in 'What's Going On' started by TorbayTrains, Dec 30, 2015.

I hope so as looking forward to seeing 46100 again. Looking at ECS moves as well it also states Barton Hill? They operate out of SPM now?

Yup. Can see just how easy it is to type LMS A1 Class 4-6-2 no 60163 Tornado instead of LMS Royal Scot Class 7P 4-6-0 no 46100 Royal Scot ! ;)

Hang on a minute. Let's not stoop so low that we have a dig at David Randles of uksteam. After all the years of keeping us up to date with the latest railtour timings and updates, it's rather unfair to have a pop at him over one or two minor errors.

Time to cut him some slack me thinks. <BJ>

I don't think anyone has had a dig ! We're just indicating that a possible typo has been made.

Agreed. Just light hearted banter. Some people need to lighten up...

I'm sure that David found that particularly amusing. <BJ>

This unfortunately is how Nat Pres loses valuable members, David made a mistake, did anyone think of contacting him to point this out, I doubt it, just have a dig at him then try to laugh it off when someone objects.

Looks like a 'cut and paste' thing. There's certainly nothing on the A1 Group's Website, FB or Twitter feeds to suggest Tornado is on the TBE.

Unfortunately with any typed message should a misunderstanding occur it is not possible to correct instantly as is usually possible with face to face speech. Once the hurt has been done it frequently occurs that others will also jump in adding to the issue. By the time the original poster realizes what has occurred he can only make a belated apology. Maybe there should be an extra button or pop up when clicking the Post Reply button such as "are you sure you wish to continue with this post"? Just my two cents/pennyworth. ;)

Just what mistake? The simple LMS instead of LNER or the actual loco? Which loco is actually taking the TBE on Sunday? Icons of Steam indicated 46100 was ok but for a few adjustments yet rumours spread of 60163. UK Steam Tours Page says 46100 and Times Page says 60163.

Oh and being offended on behalf of someone else who has not claimed to be offended is so passe...

He provides the service for free. I think everyone should be aware of that and actually be a little bit more grateful. If it was me, I'd take it offline and start charging people to access it if people moan too much.

Ha ha. You will always have those who take great joy in stirring things up for the sake of it and making mountains out of little molehills! I guess I include myself in that although I am happy to post serious comments and videos too to balance things out.
Come to think of it, I am probably the typical NP contributor and love every minute of it.

RTT hasn't caught up with the change of stabling point yet ! Also I suspect that use of St Philips Marsh may mean that another stabling point may be required for the Royal Duchy loco.

  19. Many thanks David. Lets hope there is a Royal Duchy loco to stable before too much longer. Going to be missed this weekend.
