Here's FS (5Z40) today passing Crouch Hill at 1220. Such a joy to find 'rumours' of diesel unfounded together with LOROL staff having a positive rapport with enthusiasts - and that goes to for the tannoy announcer who supplied advance notice to customers on the platform!
Possibly the last time she will grace this section before the 21st century arrives with all the paraphenalia that goes with electrification[Gospel Oak >Barking line].

Any particular reason why Scotsman is allowed over Standedge, yet Royal Scot going via Brighouse?

You're right, I am too knackered to be climbing over fences. The last trespassing I did was in my yoof, I climbed through the hole in the back of Holbeck shed (and got chased out with a boot up my backside. Happy days

Thanks to the folk who have contacted me, I'll be either at Marsden (Riverhead pub;)) or Healy Mills

I hear tornado is working the return of a diesel railtour tomorrow from York to Kings cross, presumably to get it back south for the pullmans. Posted here as no idea who the tour company is and what the name of the tour is called ..... but just a heads up.

Its not often steam replaces diesel is it ;)

I have heard this too, this is UKRailtour's 'The Diversionary Tactic' from Finsbury Park to York and back to the Cross. The path to go back that 'Tornado' is on though doesn't show any possible chances for watering though, except for 12 minutes in Peterborough station. There's a picture of her being 'fired up' on Facebook. Nothing on the official Tornado Twitter feed.

On the NR timings sheet a 25 minute allowance is being made for water at signal WS7070. This would explain the extended journey time from Sleaford to Spalding.

Last Saturday 60103 ended up at York after her run from Victoria. Today she's running from Cleethorpes to Morpeth so what on earth was she doing heading north on the ECML through Bedfordshire yesterday? A mate of mine came in the shop earlier and asked why I hadn't informed him she was passing through. He saw her at Arlesey and as a veteran spotter I'm quite sure he knows the difference between an A3 with support coach and a 91. I'd received a heads up but believing her to be in York, I assumed it was duff gen. Question is, when did she head back south after last weekend and why? Seems an awful lot of l/e mileage for nothing.

She ran to Crewe from York on Tuesday then worked the last of the Cambrian Coast Express to London on Wednesday. She worked to Barnetby last night.

There is a light move from Tyseley to Carnforth in for Wednesday although looking at the head code doesn't seem to match Lizzie?

I'm not convinced: Class 0 implies a true light engine, rather than loco + POB, which would normally be a class 5 (ECS) train, and timed for 75mph, rather than 45 or 50. There have been a few l/e diesel moves between Carnforth and TYS recently, IIRC.

There is a Carnforth - Tyseley move earlier in the day so it may be moving something and then heading home light, not sure why there are so many moves between the two at the moment, although could WCRC be using some manner of midlands base for stuff?

Four movements around Tyseley on Wednesday.

0Z60 from Carnforth to Tyseley: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U50593/2016/06/15/advanced

    5Z61 from Tyseley to Stratford-upon-Avon: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U50597/2016/06/15/advanced

5Z62 from Stratford to Tyseley: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U50598/2016/06/15/advanced

0Z63 from Tyseley to Carnforth: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U50596/2016/06/15/advanced

The 0Zxx movements could be a diesel going to attach onto the 5Zxx movements, then returning later in the day to Carnforth. 6201 maybe?

I did wonder, but don't VT have their own 47 - although may not be registered at the moment as they haven't been running mainline trains for a bit?

Not so confident about that old saying myself if referring to this young (BTP) copper! His picture is "timed" at 12.29 when I had FS accurately:rolleyes: timed at 12.20 passing through Crouch Hill three stations further east!

BTW, the position of FS shown at Gospel Oak is apparentely what NR fix as 'Platform 4':D
