The Great Britain IX

Oh totally brilliant!! I get to go over 200 miles and pay for a B&B in Plymouth just to see a steamer being pushed all round Devon and Cornwall!! I really really dont know why I bother!!

  7. I wish I could cancel my accomodation but its too late for that. What was going to be an enjoyable few days has now become a chore instead.

I feel the same way you do ! I can't cancel my B&B otherwise I get charged the full amount. Best case scenario is Ray Churchill put's the Scot hard to work over the Cornish & Devon Banks ! It's only load 10 now, so still struggling to understand why the box can't go on the rear !

Don't know why chasers (like me) are getting upset,we're lucky,we haven't paid a few grand to be involved in it. I know others don't like Premier Inn but their cancellation policy on the "Flexible" rate is the safest way of doing these things really.

  17. Because Alberta, I have spent days poring over maps, looking at timings, booking and paying for a B&B, working out the whole thing like a military operation only to be told that I will be staring at a disesel for 2 days. Forget Llanvihangel. That really isnt happening for me. I appreciate that the pax who have paid a lot of money to travel have also had the same news, but as I said in a previous post most of them wont be worried what is or isnt on the front.

So would I, I know it's easy to criticise but for an expensive trip like this there really should have been a back up plan. There have been a few casualties to thin out the number of available locos but 45690 is around somewhere and can't 46233 take over at some point on day 3. I may be very wrong but it looks to me that no one really cares.
