    Does anyone know or have any steam cranes which could of be restored to running order!

    What sort of size are you thinking of?
    Lift wise you would have anything between 5 and 75 ton.
    Which would mean a crane weight of between 30 and 150 tons approx with a base cost of approx current £30 per ton as scrap weight cost.

    Might be worth looking at the Breakdown Crane Association website as well.

    There's one for sale at the Colne Valley Railway, I believe. Don't think it's very high capacity though - 5-15ton range.

    If you are still looking for a steam crane the Bodmin and Wenford have one advertised in Traction and Rolling Stock Advertiser. It's in working order so would save you a job or two.
