A bit like a Flying Circus rather than a Flying Scotsman. I have never seen so many people in Offord, not a parking place to be had.

    Fantastic video in the circumstances.

Shame about the helicopters, sadly most videos from today will probably sound like they were filmed on the runway at Heathrow...

Trespass is always a problem, not as bad as it once was. As mentioned above enthusiasts generally behave themselves, however it only needs one person to move to a problematic position and a whole host of people will follow like sheep. Today, unfortunately, is a shinning example of this and only adds ammunition to those who would like to see any charters of any type got rid of.

Apparently stopped and cautioned at at Tempsford Road Gate Box, there is another unmanned crossing at Tempsford Station worked from here which is now doubt where these idiots got on the line. Hopefully the police will be able to identify some from the box's CCTV images.

I remember seeing a light Peak class diesel with police on board preceeding The Great Western Ltd at Hemerdon in 1985. There was lots of trespass then.

Have given up chasing due to the late running and general madness of the while event. One of the helicopters at one time was below 100ft, as it passed me at Offord Cluny.

    So,
Name them, shame them,Report them, prosecute them.
put their picture on the front pages of the comics
    confiscate the cameras,
clamp the cars that were probably parked without consideration
    throw the book at them
    they deserve nothing but contempt,
lets not tolerate this anymore, there are pictures of them use the pics as evidence
send the pics to the railway police ditch the apathy ACT,
make the consequences of their actions real and inconvenient for them instead of the rest of us
    they are selfish, arrogant fools.

    Gentleman of advancing years?
Out on a cold Winter's morning?
A couple of drinks to pass the time?
    Train running late?
Just a wee bit too excited about seeing Flying Scotsman on the East Coast Main Line?
    He should have used . . .

Attached photos of some of the "Brain Deads" near St Neot today. I know the first photo, posted on another forum was cropped from a photo of another seven trespassers walking in front of them. Photo taken from stopped tour.
Here is a quote from a facebook page "On arrival at Retford station, 1Z60 (headcode of the tour) will be stopped on signals allowing two BTP officers to board before proceeding to Babworth Loop." I hope these photos are handed over to the BTP, because they are going to spoil the hobby for everyone of us.

Did the best I could to breathlessly and slightly hysterically explain on the telly and radio why Flying Scotsman is a great thing for us all. The atmosphere at KGX this morning was incredible: the folk at the NRM and those working or volunteering have been through a tough ten years. A lot of very emotional people there as it left: this is a great day and one on which I'm pleased to celebrate those people who have all done their very best to make this happen for the rest of us.
