    A somewhat more accurate account, although there are major problems with the verdict. Adrian Vaughan probably got nearer in 'Obstruction Danger'.

    Exactly how many Stanier brake pipe unions were modified as a result is open to speculation, but I'd suggest many locos went for scrap carrying the original design.
