Well 44871 has reached York an hour or more early. Probably via Yarm.

It makes sense - a quieter route and avoids a reversal at Darlington

I hear that FS is to head to Carnforth on Wednesday, so possible test run on Thursday. Usual paths for both days.

Stop press, just heard that Scotsman is going/has gone to Heywood, so assuming this is to be the right side of the track work prior to moving to Carnforth.

There's engineering work on between Bury and Heywood for the next three weeks, so I suspect that, once 60103 has left, the track will be taken up.

Evidently 60103 left 6 minutes early, according to the Loco's FB page.

Yippee - after a bit of a break (but not as long as Scotsman's) I got a whiff of steam today. Good to know I haven't lost those well honed skills of the jerky pan and dodgy zoom:

With rain clouds gathering, LMS 8F class 2-8-0 No. 48151 accelerates away from Clapham on its test run to Hellifield and back to Carnforth after a long time out of service, sounding and going well

Nicely composed Shep. Was going to go out for this today, but took one look at the forecast and stayed put! Must be getting old!
