With 12 days before 2016 lets get the ball rolling for next year. With the days approaching for 46100(test), 6201 & 60103 having their mainline test runs here we go.

Does anyone know when 44871 is to return to Bury from Grosmont as the original plan was for today but was cancelled?

Reported elsewhere that 44871 is staying at Grosmont for the time being in order to make use of the wheeldrop.

Ian Riley has also said elsewhere that 45212 is expected to spend part of the year at Haworth, Grosmont and Fort William.

Was she not running solo (no inside diesel for braking) yesterday - or did I imagine that!?

No you didn't, the diesel was only there to stop the passengers from freezing .

If the rumours turn out to be true about Saturday, surely they wont need to send the Scotsman North for the test run ?

Isn't the reason it is said to be unavailable Saturday because it won't be main line tested in time?

UKsteam shows "may be postponed for 24 hours" but Ian is not, understandably, confirming the situation. Uncertainty will keep the number of spectators down which could be seen as a good thing. There may have been one or two final details to attend to on the engine and buying an extra day makes good sense. But it might not be needed. I am far less concerned about the fitness of the A3 than I am about the WCR situation which might need dialling into the equation. If I lived near Castleton I would be tempted to keep my eyes and ears open.

I note the light move to Carnforth has not been activated today which may suggest that it isn't happening!

BTW one small thing, on UKsteam.info (which is wonderful I hasten to add!) the light engine movements link from the front page still takes you to 2015 not 2016 - not a complaint merely an observation :)

According to RTC's Faceache page 60103 will NOT be available for her first run on 23/1...
Sorry to be the bearer of such disappointing news, but obviously Ian Riley and his lads did their best.
