    Cantankerous old curmudgeon mode on.

I commented earlier on the Guardian report linked to by green five
    http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/jan/08/flying-scotsman-steam-sweat-tears-first-journey-locomotive-restoration
that I particularly liked the explanation of the difference between "Flying Scotsman" and "The Flying Scotsman".

If some of the general public are already confused about that difference, the headboard won't help. A train on the ELR can't be The Flying Scotsman train, so the headboard will seem to apply to the locomotive, especially while its own nameplates are not yet in place.

I have noticed that some people on Twitter have posted comments saying "I have seen Flying Scotsman today" along with pictures of either 45407 or 34092 but not actually any of 60103  Whoops!
Perhaps they should have operated her with nameplates on during the test runs.

Just seen a rather nice pic of Scotsman on the ELR "dashing through the snow" according to the weatherman on Country file - more good publicity for her.

Must say I do like the two tone colour scheme, with the glossed blinkers & smokebox contrasting with the Matt body work - she looks the Mutts! :)

Shame I wont see her in that guise :( but hey ho, can't win 'em all.

I wonder if the drone flight seen in 981smithy's video was an illegal flight under CAA rules?

Shots from both saturdays. Starting at 6:00 in, the snow kicks in, which was amazing to be there for.
The loco looked the mutt's nuts, thanks Ian (and all the hardy folk at the ELR for putting it all on). Wartime black seriously suits it too, and here's hoping it will wear it again, preferably without another 70 year wait :)

The loaded test run has now been put back to 21 January round the Carnforth- Hellifield-Blackburn-Carnforth circuit, off Carnforth at 11.48 but WC tend to be a bit unreliable with timings and can use any path they want. With the first public run two days later this is taking it to the wire, let's hope they don't break it.
