What are going to be the big highlights for preservation in 2016?

I have a feeling some developments in restoring a Double Deck EMU carriage may feature during early 2016.

Outshopping LCDR 5 compartment 3rd No. 3188 by the Bluebell C&W, hopefully in time for the March Branch Line Gala.

Construction of the Horsted Keynes / Operation Undercover 4 carriage shed.

Submission and approval of plans for the redevelopment at Bridgnorth, with agreement from SVR(H) board to fund the first phase from the 2012 share issue, and with spades in the ground.

35006 coming into service on the GWSR, for a while at least it'll be the only MN in service.

After being promised over the years to be ready for the following year from about 1993 it will be nice to see this one finally completed and in service.

Return for operations to Bowes, the start of a bright new future. Plus big plans for wagon restorations.

I love MNs and can't wait to have a ride behind 35006. This is such a momentous event that I hope the owners and railway organise the first public runs so as to maximise their revenue. There must be a case for special trains with a hefty ticket price to give the loco some cash in the bank for the inevitable future expenses. It would also help them manage the crowds which will flock to theGWSR and might overwhelm their infrastructure (car parks etc)?

In a similar vein of the eternal wait, the hopeful return of the WHHR's RUSSELL to the restored F&WHR's Welsh Highland Railway, lets hope there is "peace in the valley" to quote the song, the valley being the Aberglaslyn pass.

It's difficult to see it generating the sort of crowds that Tornado did when new and Flying Scotsman will next year. It's only a Bulleid after all - and there's a lot of them around.

Return to steam of 34059 "Sir Archibald Sinclair" on the Bluebell, probably in the summer.

Commissioning of the Westinghouse L Frame in the north signal box to control all the signalling at Kingscote.
